Introducing ParentSquare for school communication

Dear Families,

The Southern Berkshire Regional School District is rolling out ParentSquare this year as its new, unified communication platform, giving families a more streamlined way to stay connected with school news, classroom updates, and important announcements. By adopting ParentSquare, the district aims to simplify how parents receive messages, whether through email, text, call, or the app.

Parents are encouraged to download the ParentSquare app or go to Parentsquare.com to create their accounts.  It is not required to receive school communication, but registering on the app offers several advantages. The most important is receiving push notifications.  The app will notify you of any message sent to you, from a classroom reminder to a snow-day alert.  You can also use the app to easily review previous messages.  Some of you have already registered and are using the app.   That’s great!

Setting a password for ParentSquare can be a challenge as they have a very large database that they cross check for compromised passwords.  You will need a strong password of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and a special character.  We undoubtedly will have a few bumps as we all learn this new platform together, but my hope is we will find this service useful in making school communication easier and more accessible. Teachers will be receiving training in ParentSquare in a few weeks.  So, soon you will start to receive communications from teachers as well as the principals and superintendent.
