Rocketry

The American Rocketry Challenge is the world’s largest student rocketry competition, bringing together thousands of students in grades 6–12 from across the United States each year. Teams are tasked with designing, building, and launching model rockets that must meet a unique set of mission requirements, such as reaching a specific altitude, carrying a payload, and returning safely to the ground. Through the competition, students gain hands-on experience in aerospace engineering, physics, teamwork, and problem-solving while following the same engineering design process used by professionals in the aerospace industry. Mt. Everett Regional School has proudly participated in the American Rocketry Challenge for the past four years, giving students the opportunity to develop valuable STEM skills while competing against some of the nation's top young rocket engineers. Over that time, the program has continued to grow, inspiring students to pursue interests and careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
