Elementary Garden Club

The Undermountain After School Garden Club is a year-long program for students in 1st through 6th grades. Children are engaged in horticultural and environmental activities after school on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. This multi-age group of students helps maintain the collection of plant material in the UME Greenhouse and the surrounding gardens at the SBRSD campus. The program is funded by the SBRSD, the Parent/Teacher Organization, donations from community members, and parents of the UME participants.

Flying Cloud Institute: Girls Science Club/Makerspace

From the Flying Cloud Institute website: "Flying Cloud Institute (FCI) partners with area schools to develop weekly Girls Science Clubs held after school in a number of local public schools. Women scientists volunteer their time to train high school girls as mentors who assist the scientists in leading hands-on laboratory activities with the elementary and middle school club members each week. During the hour and a half lab sessions girls explore fascinating topics not usually presented to elementary students. Girls keep a lab book and prepare a presentation for their parents and friends at the end of the eight week session."

The Bold Eagle: The Mount Everett Student Newspaper

Mt. Everett's student newspaper is a forum for student expression in the uninhibited, robust, free and open discussion of issues. The Bold Eagle staff is trained in journalistic methods including story development and construction, investigative reporting, interviewing techniques, page layout and design, editorial policy, and distribution.

One of the first schools nationally to have a TV production studio, Mt. Everett has been broadcasting The Morning Show for over 20 years. Each school morning Mt. Everett students deliver the morning announcements over the airwaves to each and every classroom and the local community via CTSB. Each morning students deliver the latest in school news along with local and national events, the weather, and little bit of trivia.

Model United Nations

The Model UN club meets periodically throughout the year and field trips may also take place as part of the club. In 2013, the club hosted a visit from General Assembly President Vuk Yeremic.

National Honor Society

The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS honors those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since their beginnings in 1921 and 1929. The Auriga Chapter of the NHS is always active. Students perform many different kinds of services, some on their own and some as a group. Each year the group holds a fundraiser to raise money for the Cum Laude awards, which are given out at graduation.

National Honor Society

The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. When you think of Future Farmers of America (FFA), you may assume that it's a club comprised of students dedicated solely to farming. Based on the FFA name, it's a natural assumption, but one that is very far from the truth. Members of FFA can choose an area of interest like nursery/landscape, food science and technology, forestry, floriculture, horticulture or they can elect to build life skills in areas like public speaking, parliamentary procedure, farm business management and marketing. In order to test their mettle against other FFA chapters, funds need to be raised to compete at the state and national levels

The Mount Everett Students Against Destructive Decisions is among the oldest SADD organizations in the state. Each year the SADD organization creates opportunities for the students of Mount Everett to participate in alcohol and drug-free events. Some of these events include dances, field trips, leadership training programs, after-prom parties, student-designed highway billboards, and community breakfasts. The Mount Everett SADD organization has over sixty participating members from grades 9-12. Each year the SADD underclassmen nominate one of their fellow students to receive the SADD scholarship, which is given to that outstanding Senior who exemplifies the rich traditions of the Mount Everett SADD organization.

Interact is a service club for your ages 12 to 18 who want to connect with other young people and have fun while serving their communities and learning about the world. Clubs, which meet at least twice a month, are sponsored by local rotary clubs. Interact clubs organize two projects every year, one that helps their school or community and the other that promotes international understanding. Members of sponsor Rotary clubs mentor Interactors as they carry out the project and develop leadership skills. Rotarian mentor, Scott Rote and teacher liaison, Señora Spitia.

Students learn the basics of Graphic Design using Adobe Editing Software. Each year a theme is chosen and the yearbook staff busily takes photos, lays out pages, and archives the memories that many will cherish for the rest of their lives.
