The Boys' Soccer team is participating in a sneaker-drive fundraiser. All we need is your support and your gently worn, used, or new sneakers! Here’s how you can help: Start in your and your family’s closets and gather as many pairs of sneakers that you no longer want; maybe you’ve outgrown them, they’re out of style, or out of season. Every pair counts! Send in your sneakers to school. There will be a collection bag in Ms. Giordano's room. Sneakers only, please. The sneakers that we all collect will help raise money to support our program AND will help our environment by keeping sneakers out of landfills. We will collect sneakers through January 20, 2025 Thank you for your support!

Before Thanksgiving, UME second graders held their own Macy's-inspired balloon parade! Students learned about immigration and cultural traditions. They created balloons and wrote persuasive paragraphs about them, using brainstorming and peer editing.

NMC PreK celebrated Friendsgiving the Monday before Thanksgiving break. Each child brought a special dish to share, and we gathered around a large table adorned with a tablecloth, fall decorations, and the children's turkey paintings. Together, we baked a delicious gluten-free and vegan pumpkin bread that tasted just like pumpkin pie. To commemorate the occasion, each family shared a favorite recipe, and I compiled a Friendsgiving PreK Cookbook for the children to take home. We also created a Thankful Quilt, with each child designing a square to express their gratitude. The quilt now proudly hangs on our bulletin board. Inspired by the story "Turkey Trouble," the children had a blast disguising a turkey to evade the farmer. Their creative ideas were truly impressive!
