A win for the Eagles 🦅 in overtime!
For the last two weeks, the preschool class at The Southern Berkshire Childcare Program has been learning about winter and ice. After reading Night Tree by Eve Bunting the children asked if they could decorate a tree in the woods with food for the animals just like the story described. Working together the children made strands of apples, oranges and cheerios. They also put some bird food out along with breaking up some bread for the smaller animals. A week later we took a hike back to the tree to see if the animals enjoyed the food. The children were very excited to find almost all the food gone.
Maui had a fan club after the final performance of Moana yesterday. Great job to the entire cast and crew! Theatre continues at Mt. Everett with auditions for the high school play beginning today!
The Mt. Everett Eagles Ice Hockey team is giving back to their community tonight! Join us at Berkshire School to watch the Eagles take on the Housatonic Valley Mountaineers. The puck drops at 8:00pm, but the raffle table and concession stand will be open before then. No Entrance Fee, however Donations (monetary, toiletries, meal kits, gift cards to local grocery stores, winter coats in larger sizes, etc.) are appreciated.
After having talked about what Paris was like in the 1900’s, students learned more about the Impressionists and their movement. Once at the Clark Art Institute, students were able to see the difference between a true academic painting, one that would have been accepted at the Salon, in Paris, and paintings from the Impressionists which were often refused at the Salon. During our visit, we had the chance to see several paintings of Pierre Auguste Renoir, Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, Camille Pissarro, and Mary Cassatt.

Mt. Everett's Model UN met for a debate on Friday afternoon.
Mt. Everett Photography students have been working on their final projects for the half-year course - a mixed-media piece.
These four seniors and ten other students were certified in the “Stop the Bleed” class today after they completed the practical portion of the course.
