After two years of dedication, Maryn has completed her stunning mural. Blending high-tech imagery with the beauty of nature, the piece is a love letter to our school community.
In Maryn’s words: "Mr. Siket and I have been planning this since middle school. By blending his love for technology with my passion for nature, I wanted to show how they can thrive together. If you stopped to chat or offer a kind word while I was painting, thank you. You were my motivation to cross the finish line."
What to look for:
✨ The Creation of Adam reimagined
📟 Hidden messages in Matrix code
🎹 A tribute to Stevie Wonder
👐 The Wu-Tang Clan (per Mr. Siket’s request!)

Kindergarten students explored Groundhog Day by learning that the groundhog saw his shadow Monday, meaning six more weeks of winter! Students created their own groundhogs and used chalk to make shadow reliefs, exploring how light creates shadows. This playful art activity helped us connect seasonal traditions with science, creativity, and observation.

The Pre-K students at NMC have been having a blast with our winter unit! We kicked things off by reading The Snowy Day, and everyone created their own "snowy day" masterpieces using fluffy snow puff paint and a little cutout of Peter.
Since the bitter cold has kept us inside, I brought the snow to them! The children enjoyed some sensory play with indoor snow and practiced their math skills by creating playdough snowflakes on our number mats. To wrap up the fun, they went "ice skating" by painting with colored ice cubes featuring their own photos. It’s been a wonderful way to embrace the season!

The highlight? Our Build-A-Bird-Nest experiment! 🛠️ Using paper bags, pom-poms, and their own handprint birds, our "young engineers" learned how birds transform their environment to create a safe home.
