Ms. Brown's 8th grade Genius Hour class has been putting this student-driven project together as a token of their appreciation for SBRSD faculty and staff. Students fundraised to buy all the materials, baked, and prepared them all themselves to show their gratitude for our school community.
On Friday, December 8 UME students and faculty wore their PJs in honor and support of a PreK student who has battled (and won) childhood cancer. The student's favorite color is red; in support of him, the PreK staff at UME wore red cancer ribbon PJ shirts.
Mount Everett Wrestlers had their first match of the season yesterday. The team performed well with individual wins in their respective weight classes from Max, Conner, Diego, Ian, and Yaritza. Great job to all!
Last night we held a meeting for our Transcend Community Team where we focused on exploring the work and different materials that our Core Team and Design Team have been putting together! There were so many wonderful and collaborative discussions that took place.

NHS and the 5th-grade Superintendent's Advisory Council teamed up to create holiday cards for members of the Sheffield Senior Center.
Students in Mrs. Sarnacki’s First Responder class were trained in the use of Naloxone today at the South County Recovery Center. They each received a kit that they could carry with them.
Snowman hallway decorations are up in preparation for the Senior Luncheon. Characters were painted by students ranging from third through twelfth grade.

Yesterday students took part in the PTA sponsored “crafternoon" making Mason jar snow globes to sell at the upcoming Holiday Fair this Saturday at New Marlborough Central!

We are so thankful for the donations that were made to SBRSD in the name of Jan Storti, a beloved English teacher at Mount Everett for over 40 years. During her teaching career, she served as the high school newspaper advisor, Cum Laude advisor, curriculum leader, graduation advisor, National Honor Society advisor, and the GED language arts instructor. She worked to help SBRSD students well beyond her retirement and her memory lives on in the students she taught and the colleagues she supported at SBRSD.

After reading the story, Balloons Over Broadway, which is a story about Tony Sarg and the history behind the floats in the Macy’s Day Parade, the New Marlborough Central School’s 1st graders designed and created their own balloon floats and then paraded around the school.
Ms. Aldam and Ms. McEvoy paired up AP and 9th-grade English students for some pre-Thanksgiving activities. Students rotated through various stations to receive a swipe of color on their actual hand or paper turkey hand.

Congratulations to the teacher's Team "Empire Spikes Back" for winning the S.A.D.D. Volleyball tournament yesterday. When asked how many years in a row they have won Mr. King replied, "Too many!
Mount Everett's National Honor Society hosted a Veteran's Day Dinner this weekend. Students prepared and served a meal to help show their gratitude for our community's veterans.
The Mt. Everett productions of The Life of King Henry V have their showtimes this week on our campus Thursday 11/9 at 7pm and Saturday 11/11 at 2pm and 7pm.
Next week, they are performing at Shakespeare and Co. Tina Packer playhouse on Friday 11/17 at 6:15pm.
