Negotiations Information for FY26
As you may be aware, the Southern Berkshire Regional School District continues to engage in contract negotiations with the Southern Berkshire Regional Educational Association (SBREA). We are committed to reaching an agreement that recognizes the valuable contributions of our teachers while also maintaining the financial health and long-term stability of the District.
Teachers are our Number One Asset
First and foremost, our teachers are our number one asset. Their dedication to their profession shapes the educational experience for every student in our schools. Our goal throughout these negotiations is to ensure that our highly qualified professionals have the resources and support that they need to be successful and can maximize their time in front of our students, where they make the greatest impact.
Committed to a Good Faith Agreement
As one of the largest employers in the area, our District understands it is important that we maintain the financial stability of our District. We are proud to say that we have not had any layoffs due to budget concerns, even among the broader economic challenges that are facing public schools.
Our Administrative Team and School Committee members remain committed to working in good faith with the SBREA to reach a fair and reasonable agreement.
