Youth Athletics

The Undermountain/Mt. Everett Youth Sports Athletic Association (UMEYAA) was launched many years ago by a group of parents interested in creating quality athletic experiences for elementary and middle school students. They were unanimously endorsed by the School Committee as the group responsible for oversight of these efforts.

The Association is governed by a board consisting of parents, community members, and staff who meet monthly to review issues related to youth athletics, such as establishing policy, providing equipment, finding coaches, scheduling contests, hiring officials, and of course, fund raising. The goal of the Youth Board is for students to have fun through sports experiences that are instructional at an age-appropriate level. Both in-house and travel team opportunities are available. The quality of our junior varsity and varsity programs have been significantly enhanced as a result of our youth programs.

In summary, excellent opportunities in soccer, basketball, and softball are available to students at the Southern Berkshire Regional School District as a result of these volunteers in our community.
