SBRSD Welcomes New Teachers

The new teachers at Southern Berkshire were officially inducted into the District on Thursday, August 26, 2010, in the Mount Everett library. The purpose of the induction is to give beginning and incoming teachers an opportunity to learn key information about the District and its schools before they hit the road running. They were warmly welcomed by David Hastings, Curriculum and Professional Development Administrator, and Dr. Michael Singleton, Superintendent of Schools. Glenn Devoti and Pam Kenyon, principals, were on hand to greet them as well and also to share their unique perspectives about the upcoming year. The next day and one half were spent in workshops listening to veteran staff present information about the nuances and policies of the District. On Friday the new teachers met and lunched with their trained mentors and were able to spend the afternoon working together in their classrooms. The District is privileged to have engaged such an enthusiastic and talented group of teachers. If you have not yet met them, please take the time to do so. You will be glad you did!
