Michael J. Singleton, Ed.D., is the Superintendent of the Southern Berkshire Regional School District. Dr. Singleton received his BA, M.Ed., and CAGS from SUNY Brockport, and earned his doctorate in educational leadership from Nova University. Dr. Singleton retired after more than 20 years as superintendent in districts in NY State and worked as Director of Special Education in Williamstown Public Schools for 5 years, prior to joining Southern Berkshire in 2008. Dr. Singleton holds MA certification as Superintendent, All Levels.

   
   
Bruce Turner is the District Business Administrator. Bruce is a graduate of SUNY Albany, and holds a BS in Business Administration. Before beginning his tenure in Southern Berkshire in July of 2010, Mr. Turner served as Finance Director/Treasurer of the City of Easthampton and Treasurer, CMMT/Collector of the Town of Sterling. While in Sterling, he also served as the Interim Town Administrator. In the 1990's, Mr. Turner also served six years as a member of the Southern Berkshire Regional School Committee, and he currently is a member of the Board of Selectmen in the Town of Egremont. Mr. Turner holds MA certification as School Business Administrator.
   
   
Glenn Devoti is Principal of Mt. Everett Regional School. Mr. Devoti earned a BA in Physical Education and an MS in Exercise Physiology and Outdoor Education from Queens College. He later completed the Administration and Supervision Program at St. John's University. Prior to joining Southern Berkshire in 1993, Mr. Devoti served as vice principal at John Jay High School in Wappingers Falls, NY. Mr. Devoti holds MA certification as Principal/Asst. Principal, 9-12, and Principal/Asst. Principal, 5-8.
   
   
Erin Woodsome is the Elementary Principal. She holds a Certificate of Advanced Study in School Administration from the University of Southern Maine in addition to her Master of Science Degree in Education Leadership (also from Southern Maine) and Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from the University of Maine. Prior to coming to Southern Berkshire, Ms. Woodsome served as Elementary Principal of the Searsport Maine Elementary School. She has a total of 6 years administrative experience and 16 years as a special education teacher. While at Searsport Ms. Woodsome and the staff effectively raised the average proficiency levels in reading and math. Searsport moved into 6th place out of 557 public schools in the State of Maine.
   
Sandra Hubbard is the Director of Student Services. Ms. Hubbard received her BA in Psychology from St. Bonaventure University her MS in School Administration from the University of Phoenix . She has been a member of the Southern Berkshire staff since 2004, and previously served as a speech therapist. Ms. Hubbard holds certification as a Special Education Administrator (all levels).
   

Christopher Thompson is the Supervisor of Technology. He is a graduate of Elizabethtown College (PA)), where he received a BA in Communications. He also holds an M.Ed. from Lesly University. Mr. Thompson joined the Mt. Everett staff in 2000. He is certified to teach Communications and Performing Arts (all levels) and as an Instructional Technology Specialist (all levels).

   

Thomas Nadolny is the Assistant Elementary Principal. Mr. Nadolny earned his BA from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and a Masters of Education from Cambridge College. Prior to becoming the Assistant Principal in October of 2009, Mr. Nadolny served as an assistant principal at Lee Elementary and Middle Schools, and as an elementary principal in the Gateway Regional School District and at Southern Berkshire.

   

David Hastings is the Director of Curriculum and Professional Development.   Mr. Hastings holds a BA in Math Education from Springfield College and a MEd in School Administration from North Adams State College (MCLA). Prior to coming to Mt. Everett in 2006, he worked as a Math teacher at Mt. Everett (1977-80), a special needs teacher, and as an administrator in several private residential special education schools.  He retired in 2005 from the military as an Army Chief Warrant Officer Five.  Mr. Hastings holds Massachusetts educator licenses  in Mathematics, 7-12; Special Needs, 7-12; Supervisor/Director, 7-12; and Superintendent.

   
Harvey Thompson is District Treasurer (.4 FTE). Mr. Thompson began his duties as Treasurer in February of 2006. He is a graduate of the American International College, with a BS in Business Administration. Prior to coming to Southern Berkshire, he served as Chief Financial Officer at the DeSisto School in Stockbridge.
   
Fred Finkle is the Director of Buildings and Grounds. Prior to his appointment to his current position in 2001, Mr. Finkle served as the District Head Custodian. He is licensed by the MA Department of Environmental Protection as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator. Mr. Finkle also serves as assistant girls' basketball coach and as varsity golf coach.
   
John Tranfaglia is the Director of Food Services (.5 FTE). Mr. Tranfaglia has extensive experience in the food service industry, and prior to joining the District staff in 2001, he worked as Dining and Nutrition Supervisor at Kimball Farms in Lenox. He also operated a catering firm and worked in various restaurants, including Boston's famous Bull and Finch (CHEERS) Pub.
 
Lynn Webster teaches Early K/K at the Monterey School. She is an experienced teacher, who holds MA certification in PK-3rd grade. Ms. Webster received her Bachelor of Arts degree at Dartmouth College in Studio Art, and her Masters of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Wheelock College in Boston. Prior to joining the Southern Berkshire faculty in 2010, she taught Kindergarten and 1st grade at the Seven Hills Charter School in Worcester. She also served as the Lead PreK teacher at Martha's Vineyard Community Services in Oak Bluffs, MA. Ms. Webster holds MA certification in Early Childhood education.
 

Francine Groener teaches the New Marlborough PreKindergarten Class, which has earned accreditation through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Ms. Groener received her BS from the Brooklyn College of the City University of New York and has completed graduate level course work in her field at several area colleges. She is MA certified to teach PK-3, and has been a member of the New Marlborough staff since 1990. She is a member of the Elementary School Council, and she serves as Building Leader at NMC. Ms. Groener is also a Library Trustee for the Town of New Marlborough.

   

Jaimi-Lyn Beaty teaches 1st grade at New Marlborough Central School. Miss Beaty is a graduate of St. Bonaventure University, having earned both a Bachelor of Science in Elementary/Special Education and a Masters in Education there. Before joining the Southern Berkshire faculty in 2010, Ms. Beaty taught grades 3 through 6 special education and served as a gifted education/enrichment specialist for K-5th grade students. She also served as a long-term substitute for the multi-aged grades 1 & 2 class at New Marlborough Central last year.

   

Erna Lampman teaches Kindergarten. She holds a BA from Vertmont College of Norwich University and an M.Ed. from Cambridge College. Prior to joining the District staff in 1996, Ms. Lampman worked as a legal advocate for Native Americans and as a Waldorf teacher. Ms. Lampman developed the NMC garden program, the recently established the Healthy Snack Program, the popular annual Harvest Supper, and the weekly All-School Meetings. Ms. Lampman holds MA certification in the areas of Elementary Teacher, 1-6 and Early Childhood Teacher, PK-3.

   

Thomas Masters teaches grades 3 and 4 at New Marlborough Central School in 2010-11. Mr. Masters comes to the District from the Kolburne School, where he served as a Vocational Coordinator. He also worked as a Clinical Professor of Education at Pace University and taught at Manhattan School For Children and at PS 144 in New York City. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY Genesco, and a Masters of Science in Special Education at the City University of New York at City College. Mr. Masters holds MA certification in Elementary Education (1-6) and in Moderate Disabilities (PreK-8).

   

Evelyn Vallianos is the School Nurse for New Marlborough, Monterey, and South Egremont Schools. She is a graduate of the Lynn, MA Hospital School of Nursing. Ms. Vallianos has been a member of the District staff since 1993.

   

Ashley Rote teaches Grades 2-3. Ms. Rote earned her BA at Westfield State College and joined the District in January, 2008. She is piloting a unique program incorporating one-on-one laptop technology into the classroom. Ms. Rote is MA certified as an Elementary Teacher, Grades 1-6.

 

Julie Milani teaches K-1. Ms. Milani received a BFA in Dance and an MS in International Studies from Ohio University. After several years of touring the world with her own dance company, she returned to New York where she earned her M.Ed. in Elementary Education from Bank Street College. Ms. Milani began her teaching career in Southern Berkshire at the former Alford Kindergarten. She was instrumental in developing the Southern Berkshire Child Care Program, and she served as its director for several years. Ms. Milani has also taught at New Marlborough Central School and at Undermountain, and she served as assistant to the principal for a year. Ms. Milani is MA certified in Early Childhood, K-3.

 

Susan Kinne Beacco is the PK-2 Resource Room Teacher. She holds a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Bay Path College and is licensed by the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Licensure to teach grades PK-2. Ms. Beacco is also licensed in special education, moderate disabilities Pre-K through 8, and  special education, moderate disabilities 5-12 . Ms. Beacco's previous experience includes service as a Developmental Specialist at the Children’s Health Program. She earned her BS in Human Development at Colorado State University and her M.Ed. from Bay Path College.

   

Anthony Bleau teaches 6th Grade Math and Science. Mr. Bleau earned a BS in Early Childhood Education and BA in Psychology at MA College of Liberal Arts, and a M.Ed. from Lesley University. He is currently enrolled in Cambridge College, completing an M.Ed. in Mathematics, 5-8. He has previously taught in various other grade levels and prior to coming to Southern Berkshire, taught at schools in Vermont and Connecticut. Mr. Bleau holds MA certification as an Early Childhood, PK-3, Teacher, and as an Elementary, Grades 1-6 Teacher.

   

Kimberly Bleau teaches the Early Kindergarten Class. Ms. Bleau holds a BA in Psychology and a BS in Education from MA College of Liberal Arts, and earned an M.Ed. from Lesley University. She joined the staff of Southern Berkshire in 1999. Ms. Bleau holds certification as an Early Childhood, PK-3, Teacher.

   
   
Jody Burkle is the Grades 3-4 Resource Room Teacher. She has been a member of the SBRSD teaching staff since 1983. Ms. Burkle received her BS in Art at Central Connecticut State College and has completed graduate level coursework in the field of special education. She holds MA certification in Special Needs, K-12.
   

Robin Coulehan is the District School Psychologist. Dr. Coulehan served as a private contractor providing psychological assessments for students for several years prior joining the District staff in 2006. She graduated from Williams College with a BA in Psychology and from the State University of New York, Albany, with a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology. Dr. Coulehan also maintains a private practice in psychological services for children, adolescents, and families. She is licensed as a School Psychologist, All Levels, through the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

   

Jennifer DeAngelo teaches second grade. A member of the Undermountain Staff since 1996, Ms. DeAngelo graduated from Rhode Island College with a BS in Elementary and Special Education. She holds MA certification as an Elementary (K-8) teacher and as a Special Needs (K-8) teacher.

 

Nancy Doherty is the Elementary Special Program Teacher (Grades K-8). Ms. Doherty is a graduate of Westfield State College, with a BA in Special Education and Liberal Studies, and she earned her MA in Educational Psychology at the Union Institute and University, Vermont College. Ms. Doherty is MA certified as a Teacher of Special Needs, 5-12 and PK-9. She is currently completing work on a post-master's certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis in Autism.

 

Donna Drew teaches Art, K-6. She received her BFA in Art Education at the Massachusetts College of Art and is MA certified to teach Art/Visual Art, K-12, and as a Special Subject Supervisor, K-12. Ms. Drew came to the SBRSD in 1974. She is a member of the District's Creative Schools Committee to plan interdisciplinary teacher training and student lessons. Ms. Drew recently completed work on an interdisciplinary grade 3 local black history curriculum, a project which was sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the MA College of Liberal Arts.

   

Christine Foster is a Special Education Teacher. She has been a member of the District staff since 2007. Ms. Foster received her BA in Special Education from the College of St. Rose and holds MA certification as a Teacher of Children with Moderate Special Needs, Grades 5-12.

 

James Foster teaches Grade 5 Math. He holds a BS in Sociology from Fitchburg State College. Mr. Foster holds MA certification as a Teacher of Children with Special Needs, PK-9 and 5-12, and as a Math Teacher, Grades 1-6. He has been on the SBRSD staff since 2004.

 

Christine Galeucia teaches first grade. Ms. Galeucia earned a BS in Elementary Education and a Clinical Masters in Education from Westfield State College. She has been on the staff of Undermountain since 2004. Ms. Galeucia holds MA certification as an Elementary Teacher, Grades 1-6.

 

JoAnn Gavrity is Title I Teacher and Title I Coordinator. She is MA certified as a Teacher of Children with Special Needs, PK-9 and 5-12, and in Reading, All Levels. Ms. Gavrity received a BA in Economics and an M.Ed. in Rehabilitation Counseling from Hunter College. She also holds an M.Ed. in the area of Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities from the MA College of Liberal Arts. Ms. Gavrity joined the District staff in 2002.

 
Susan Happ is the Elementary School Adjustment Counselor. She earned a BA in Psychology and Biology at Middlebury College, and received her MS in Social Work from the State University of New York, Albany. She is MA certified as a School Social Worker/School Adjustment Counselor, All Levels. Ms. Happ coordinates the Big Brother/Big Sister Program at Undermountain.
 
Julia M. Heenan is a Grade 4 teacher at Undermountain Elementary School. Julia received both her BA and MS degrees from SUNY Potsdam and is certified to teach Elementary, K-6, and Students with Moderate Disabilities, 7-12. Julia has experience teaching in both parochial schools and public schools in New York and Georgia. She also has experience working with special needs students at a private school in the Berkshire area. Ms. Heenan was appointed to her current position in 2009.
 
Jo-Ellen Height is a Pre-K teacher. Ms. Height holds a BA and an MS in Communication Disorders from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Ms. Height was appointed as a speech/language teacher in 1992 and transferred into the Pre-K position in March of 2010. She holds MA certification in the areas of Speech/Language/Hearing Disorders and in Early Childhood, PK-2.
 
Jenni Hill is the Response to Intervention Teacher in the District's elementary schools. Ms. Hill received her Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY, Albany, and her Master of Education degree from Lesley University. She previously taught at Indian Mountain School in CT and at Kildonan Elementary School in Amenia, NY, and has other experience working with children at the Maplebrook School in Amenia, NY and at Children's Hospital, Boston, MA. Ms. Hill joined the District faculty in 2010, and she holds MA certification in elementary education.
 
Jodi Hutchinson teaches Grade 6 English Language Arts and Social Studies. She received her BA in Language Arts/English from the State University of New York, New Paltz. Ms. Hutchinson is MA certified as an Elementary Teacher, Grades K-6. She has been a member of the Undermountain staff since 2004.
 
Sofia Hughes teaches Kindergarten. Ms. Hughes received a BS in Home Economics/Early Childhood Education from Keene State College, NH, and an M.Ed. from Lesley University. A member of the Undermountain staff since 1996, she is MA certified as an Early Childhood, K-3, Teacher.
 

Carol Ide teaches 3rd Grade. Ms. Ide joined the District's staff in1987, following a successful career in music. She began as Coordinator of the Regular Ed. Preschool Program. After 3 years teaching preschool, she moved up to third grade. She looped with grades three and four for two years, and also taught one year in a second and third grade combination class.She received her BA in Elementary Education from Rider University, and is MA certified as an Elementary Teacher, K-6.

 
Katinka Jaszai is a Title I Teacher. Ms. Jaszai holds a BA in Conservation from C.W. Post College, Long Island University, and an M.Ed. from the MA College of Liberal Arts. She holds MA certification as Teacher of Students with Moderate Special Needs, K-8. Ms. Jaszai joined the elementary staff in 2001.
 

Joshua King teaches Physical Education. He is a graduate of Springfield College, with a BS in Movement of Sports. Mr. King is MA certified as a Teacher of Physical Education, Grades PK-8 and 5-12. He joined the District staff in 2006.

 
Christina Kreis teaches 3rd Grade. She is a graduate of Westfield State College, where she earned a BA in Education. She also has her M.Ed. from Cambridge College with a concentration in mathematics. Ms. Kreis is certified through the MA DESE as an Elementary Teacher, Grades 1-6. She joined the District's staff in 2005.
   
Elissa MacDowell is a Speech Therapist Assistant, serving children in Grades 5-12. Elissa is a graduate of the College of St. Rose in Albany, NY, and holds a BS in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Prior to coming to Southern Berkshire in 2009, she served as a Speech Therapy Assistant for the CHP First Steps Program, and also worked as a French tutor at the College of St. Rose and as a direct care worker at Berkshire County Arc.
   
Claudine Mallory teaches Grade 6. Ms. Mallory is a graduate of UMASS Amherst and earned her MA in Teaching from Trinity College in Washington, D.C. Her experience includes 2 years as a 3rd grade teacher in the Washington, D. C. area, and 4 years as a 5th grade teacher in Fairfax County, VA, Public Schools. Ms. Mallory holds MA certification in Elementary, Grades 1-6.
   
Debra Manegre is the Language Lab/Developmental Skills Teacher. She earned her BA in Social Studies Education at Southeastern College of the Assemblies of God and her MA in Special Education at Clemson University. Debra served as a special education teacher in several North Carolina schools prior to accepting the position at Southern Berkshire in 2011.
 
Christine Martin is a FLES (Foreign Language in the Elementary Schools) Teacher. Ms. Martin is a graduate of the University of Vermont, where she received a BA In Spanish and a BA in Latin American Studies. She received an MA in Teaching English as a Second Language and in Spanish at the School for International Training. She has been a member of the SBRSD staff since 1997.
 

Kelly Milan is an Elementary Physical Education Teacher. Ms. Milan is a graduate of UMASS Amherst, where she earned a BA in Physical Education. She has taught in District schools since 1984, and currently serves as K-12 Health Curriculum Leader. Ms. Milan is MA certified as a Health/PE Teacher, K-12.

 
 

Mary J. (Amy) Murray teaches 3rd Grade. Ms. Murray graduated from Fitchburg State College with a BS in Education and from Smith College with an M.Ed. in Deaf Education. She is currently working toward an MS in Mathematics. Ms. Murray joined the staff at Southern Berkshire in 1998, and she holds MA certification as an Elementary Teacher, Grades 1-6, and as a teacher of Children with Special Needs, All Levels. She currently serves as PK-5 Math Curriculum Leader.

 
 

Michael Naventi teaches 5th grade. Mr. Naventi earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in Legal Studies at the University of Massachusetts and completed additional graduate work to meet the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education requirements for licensure. He is certified through the MA DESE as an elementary teacher, Grades 1-6. He is currently enrolled in a Masters program through American International College. Prior to joining the Southern Berkshire staff in 2010, Mr. Naventi held teaching assignments at the Eagleton School, Hillcrest Educational Center, the Kolburne School, and Monument Valley Middle School.

 
 

Rebecca Neet teaches 4th grade. Ms. Neet is a graduate of St. Bonaventure University, with a BS in Elementary Education. She earned her MS in Curriculum Development and Instructional Technology at the State University of New York at Albany. Prior to joining the Undermountain staff in 2011, she spent 12 years as an educator in various schools around the US and has served in various capacities including  classroom teacher, educational technologist, coach, and curriculum specialist. Ms. Neet holds MA DESE certification in Elementary (1-6).

 
 
Claudia Ooley is an English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher. She is a graduate of the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland, where she received a BA in Media Studies. Additionally, Ms. Ooley obtained a Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages at Trinity College, England and a Post-Graduate Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults at the University of Cambridge, England. Ms. Ooley joined the District staff in 2008 and has her MA certification as an ESL Teacher.
   
 
Michelle Peters is a Grade 5 English Language Arts and Social Studies Teacher. She is a graduate of Framingham State College, with a BA in French. Ms. Peters joined the elementary staff in 1989, and she is MA certified as a Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities, Grades PK-8 and as an Elementary Teacher, Grades 1-6.
   

Elizabeth Petty teaches music in the elementary schools. Ms. Petty is a graduate of DePauw University, with a Bachelor of Music degree. She also holds a M.Ed. in moderate and special needs from Lesley College.  A veteran teacher, Ms. Petty previously taught elementary music at Pittsfield Public Schools and most recently at Farmington River Elementary School in Otis.

 
Patricia Poulos is a 4th Grade English Language Arts and Social Studies Teacher. She is a graduate of C.W. Post College of Long Island University, with a BS in Elementary Education. She earned an MS in Elementary Education at Queens College. A member of the District staff since 1992, Ms. Poulos holds MA certification as and Elementary Teacher, Grades 1-6. She currently serves as Grades 5-6 Building Leader.
 

Jennifer Preis is a Speech/Language Therapist. She earned both her Bachelor of Art and her Master of Science degrees in speech-language pathology from Loyola College in Baltimore, MD. Prior to joining our District staff in 2010, Ms. Preis held teaching assignments in Aberdeen and Baltimore, MD, and worked as a speech pathologist at the Baltimore Speech and Hearing Clinic and at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She holds MA certification in Speech/Language/Hearing Disorders, All Levels.

   
Carrie Russo teaches kindergarten. She is a graduate of the College of Our lady of the Elms, where she received a BA in Early Childhood Education and Psychology. She also holds a MS in Literacy Education from Mount Saint Mary College. Ms. Russo's previous experience includes work as a team teacher at Maplebrook/Little Professors School in Amenia, NY; a pre-school teacher at Montessori Children's House, West Springfield, MA; and assignments as a child care teacher, a paraprofessional, and long-term substitute kindergarten teacher at Undermountain Elementary School. She holds MA certification in the area of Early Childhood, PreK-2.
 
   

Angela Spitia is a FLES (Foreign Language for Elementary Students) Teacher (.6 FTE). Ms. Spitia received a BS in Law from the Universidad de SanBuenaventure, Cali,Columbia, and an MS in Teaching English as a Second Language from the Southern New Hampshire University. She joined the District staff in 2007, and holds MA certification as Teacher of Spanish, PK-6 and 5-12.

 
 

Frances Stevens is a Title I Teacher. Ms. Stevens is a graduate of Aurora University with a BA in History, and of Westfield State College, where she earned a Clinical Masters in Education (Reading). She has been a member of the SBRSD staff since 1990. Ms. Stevens holds MA certification as an Early Childhood Teacher (PK-3), Elementary Teacher (1-6), and Reading, All Levels.

 

Suzanne Teutsch, RN, BSN is the School Nurse at Undermountain Elementary School. Ms. Teutsch earned a BS degree in nursing from Ohio State University School of Nursing and holds licensure as a MA Registered Nurse and as a School Nurse, All Levels.  Her former experience in school nursing includes nine years as a school nurse and school nurse leader in the Pittsfield Public Schools. She has also worked as a nurse in many other settings, including Berkshire Visiting Nurses and Hillcrest Hospital, and as a clinical instructor at Berkshire Community College. Additionally, Ms. Teutsch holds thirteen copyrights for songs and plays that she has written.

 

Susan Turner is a 1st Grade Teacher. She earned a BS in Elementary Education from George Mason University and an M.Ed. from North Adams State College. Ms. Turner joined the elementary staff in1974 and left in June 1981, and she returned in 1989. She holds MA certification as an Elementary Teacher, Grades K-8.

 
Susan Weinstein is a 1st Grade Teacher. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, and she earned an M.Ed. in Elementary Education from Lesley University. Ms. Weinstein joined the SBRSD staff in 2000. She serves as chairperson of the schoolyard garden project. Ms. Weinstein holds MA certification as an Elementary Teacher, Grades 1-6.
 

Daniel Weston is a 2nd Grade Teacher. Mr. Weston earned a BA in Government from Skidmore College and an MA in Elementary Curriculum and Teaching from Columbia University Teachers College. He is currently the K-5 Science and Social Studies Curriculum Leader. He joined the elementary staff in 1993. Outside of school, Mr. Weston is a member of the Stockbridge Volunteer Fire Department and an EMT on the Lee Volunteer Ambulance Service. Mr. Weston holds MA certification as an Elementary Teacher, Grades 1-6.

 

Stephen Antil teaches Grades 7-8 Science. Mr. Antil joined the Mt. Everett staff in 2007. He earned a BS in Environmental Design and a Masters in Education from the Univ. of Massachusetts. He was the recipient of the MA Secretary for Environmental Affairs Award in Environmental Education in 2005 and 2001. He has worked on reforestation and community development in Haiti and assisted in Orca research in the San Juan Islands, WA. He also aided with hurricane relief efforts in Miss.and LA in 2007. Mr. Antil holds MA teaching certification in the areas of Social Studies, 7-12; Biology, 7-12; Earth Science, 7-12; and General Science, 7-12.

 

Neal Barbieri teaches Grades 9-12 Math. Mr. Barbieri received a BA in Mathematics from Westfield State College and is currently pursuing his Masters Degree. He joined the Mt. Everett staff in 2003. Mr. Barbieri serves as a Graduation Advisor and as an advisor for the Senior Class.

 
Patrick Barrett teaches Grades 9-12 History and Social Studies. A member of the Mt. Everett Staff since 2000, he received a BS in Social Science Education from Plymouth State College, NH, and an MA in Social Science from the California University of Pennsylvania.Mr. Barrett holds MA teaching certification for History, Grades 9-12.
 

James Berlstein teaches Technology, Engineering, and Physics. He came to Mt. Everett in 2000. Mr. Berlstein received a BS in Biology from Yale University and an MA in Aquaculture from the University of WA, Seattle. Mr. Berlstein holds MA teaching certification in the areas of Physics, 8-12; Mathematics, 8-12; Technology/Engineering, 5-12; Biology, 9-12; and General Science, 9-12.

 

Jeremiah Bickford is the Middle School Academic Caseworker (special education). Mr. Bickford holds a BA in Art from Charter Oak College and has begun work toward a M.Ed.t Central CT State College. Prior to coming to Mt. Everett in 2008, he taught at Kolburne School, supervised a summer youth work program, and mentored a special needs student. He is MA certified in Art, 7-12.

 

Regan Campbell teaches 7-8 math. Ms. Campbell is a graduate of the State University of New York at Brockport, and she earned her Masters Degree and a Certificate of Advance Study of Education from Hofstra University. Prior to joining the Mt. Everett staff, she taught math at the middle school level in Johnstown, NY. She also taught for several years in Hudson Falls, NY. Ms. Campbell holds MA certification in Mathmatics, 5-8.

 

Jesse Carpenter teaches Grades 7-8 English Language Arts. He received a BA in English from Wesleyan University and an MA in English from Westfield State College. While at Wesleyan, Mr. Carpenter played 4 years of varsity baseball, and holds the school's record for highest batting average. He played in the College World Series in 1993 and was named to the All New England College Team in 1995 and 1996. Mr. Carpenter joined the Mt. Everett staff in 1998, and he currently serves as Grades 7 -8 Building Leader, Athletic Director, Varsity Baseball Coach, and Varsity Boys Soccer Coach. He holds MA teaching certification in the areas of English, 5-9, and Special Needs, PK-9.

 

Wendy Casey teaches Grades 9-12 English Language Arts and Grades 7-8 Spanish. Ms. Casey earned a BA in English from Westfield State College, and an M.Ed., Interdisciplinary Studies, from Cambridge College. Ms. Casey came to Mt. Everett in 2002, and she currently serves as Co-Advisor of the Mt. Everett Yearbook. She holds MA certification in English, 8-12.

   
Annie Christensen teaches English Language Arts at Mt. Everett. Ms. Christensen earned her BA in Literature at the College of St. Rose, and her MA in Teaching from Bard College. New to the profession of teaching, Ms. Christensen served apprenticeships at Chatham Middle School and Red Hook High School. She has also worked as a teacher's aide and counselor, and is fluent in American Sign Language. Ms. Christensen holds MA certification in English, 8-12.
 

Matthew Chrzanowski teaches Grades 7-8 English Language Arts. He joined the Mt. Everett staff in 2004. Mr. Chrzanowski earned a BA in English from James Madison University and is currently enrolled in the Bread Loaf School of English at Middlebury College. Mr. Chrzanowski is MA certified to teach English, 8-12.

 
Christopher Clark teaches music and chorus in grades 3-12. He received a BA in Music from Cleveland State University and holds a double Master of Music in Music Education and Choral Conducting from Bowling Green State University. While studying at Bowling Green, Mr. Clark served as the graduate assistant for the University Choral Society, the Collegiate Choral, and the Men's Chorus, and he assisted in directing the Women's Chorus. His experience also includes directing choirs and chorales at numerous Ohio churches and schools. Mr. Clark is MA certified to teach Music, All Levels.
 
Paul Collins is the Student Support Center Director. He has a BA in Psychology from St. Francis of Xavier University and has completed graduate level course work in the education field. Prior to joining the Mt. Everett staff in 2005, Mr. Collins served as Chief Probation Officer of Southern Berkshire County. He has served on the Board of the MA Association for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, taught courses on the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse at local schools, served as Vice President of the Berkshire Council on Alcoholism, and coached numerous youth league sports teams.
 
Will Conklin is a part-time Environmental Science Teacher, Grades 9-12, in 2011-12. Will is a graduate of University Massachusetts Amherst and holds a BA in History. He also completed studies at the University of Kings’ College, Halifax, Nova Scotia where he was twice nominated for the Dawson Essa prize in Science in Religion. Will presently owns and operates Local Wood Works and serves as program director of Greenagers Youth Program. He has also served as a team leader for Landmark Volunteers, directing teenaged volunteers in Main and Colorado. Will is a certified arborist.
 
Kurt DeGrenier is the Dean of Students. He is a graduate of Norwich University, where he received a BA in Physical Education. Mr. DeGrenier joined the District staff in 2004, and he currently coaches the Varsity Softball Team.
 

Courtney English teaches Music and Band, Grades 5-12. She is a graduate of Oklahoma City University and holds a BA in Music Education and an MA in Music (Conducting). She taught music and band in Oklahoma and Connecticut, prior to coming to Mt. Everett in 2008. Ms. English holds MA certification in Music: Vocal/Instrumental/General, All Levels.

 

Marie Erwin is the Mt. Everett Library Media Specialist. She received a BS in Human Development from UMASS, Amherst, and an MS in Library Science from the State University of New York, Albany. Ms. Erwin serves as the District's Web Site Coordinator. She has worked at Mt. Everett since 1988, and she holds MA certification as a Library Media Specialist.

 

Dawn Estes-Daub is a Guidance Counselor. She joined the Mt. Everett staff in 2001. Ms. Estes-Daub is a graduate of the MA College of Liberal Arts, with a BA in Psychology, and she received her MA in Psychology from Westfield State College. She is MA certified as a 5-12 Guidance Counselor.

 

Michael Farmer teaches 7-8 Grade Social Studies and Grade 10 Economics. Mr. Farmer earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in Business/Finance from the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia, and he received an M.Ed. from Lesley University. He came to Mt. Everett in 2004, and is currently the 6-12 Social Studies Curriculum Leader, the Student Council Advisor, KiDmocracy Coordinator, and a member of the District's Long-Range Planning Team. Mr. Farmer is a recent recipient of the W.E.B. DuBois Citizenship Award, and is a volunteer for the S. Berkshire Medical Corps. He holds MA certification as a teacher of Social Studies (5-12), Business (5-12), and Political Science (9-12).

 
Katherine Gingras is a Guidance coounselor. Ms. Gingras earned her Bachelor of Arts at Western New England College and her Masters of Education at Springfield College. Before joining the Mt. Everett faculty in 2010, she taught math in the Windsor (CT) Public Schools and in the Hatfield (MA) Public Schools. Ms. Gingras holds MA licensure in Middle School Mathematics, and she is also licensed as a School Guidance Counselor.
 
Kari Giordano teaches Art, Grades 7-12. She graduated from State University of New York, New Paltz, with a BFA in Art, and from the Rhode Island School of Design, with an M.Ed. Ms. Giordano began working at Mt. Everett in 2006. She currently serves as Co-Advisor of the Mt. Everett Year Book. She holds MA certification as a Teacher of Visual Art, 5-12.
 
Stephanie Graham is a Grades 9-12 Art Teacher. Prior to coming to Southern Berkshire in 2010, Ms. Graham worked as an art teacher in the Wappingers Central School District in Wappingers Falls, NY. Additionally, she worked as an Art Teacher for the after-school program of the Fishkill Recreation Department and volunteered as a program leader for the Discovery Room Program at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, and as a park tender for the Riverside Park Fund, New York, NY. Ms. Graham holds MA licensure in Visual Arts, PreK-8 and Grades 5-12.
 

John Hammill teaches Grades 7-8 Social Studies and High School Honors Level U.S. History and Government. He earned a BA in History from the State University of New York, Potsdam. Prior to joining the Mt. Everett staff in 2003, Mr. Hammill was a researcher and technology analyst for George Gilder and the Gilder Technology Report, a subsidiary of Forbes Magazine. He holds MA certification as a History Teacher, Grades 5-8 and 8-12.

 
 
Tara Johnston teaches grades 7-12 Spanish. Ms. Johnston joins the Mt. Everett faculty after spending the past eight years teaching English and Spanish in Seville, Spain. She holds a BA in Spanish Studies from the University of Massachusetts, and she earned her MA degree in Bilingual Teaching at the University of Pablo de Olavide, Seville, Spain. Ms. Johnston holds MA certification in Spanish, Grades 5-12.
 
Dallas Jones teaches grades 9-12 math. She is a graduate of St. Joseph's College in Patchogue, NY where she earned a BA in Mathematics. Prior to joining the Mt. Everett faculty, Ms. Jones served as long-term substitute math teacher at East Moriches Union Free School. She is certified through the MA DESE as a Math Teacher, Grades 8-12.
 
 

Elizabeth Kuzmech teaches grades 7- 12special education math. Ms. Kuzmech received her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Mount Holyoke College and her Master of Science Degree in Special Education from Southern Connecticut State University. She previously taught at the Ben Bronz Academy in West Hartford, CT; Cheshire High School and Dodd Middle School in Cheshire, CT; and at Monument Mountain,in Great Barrington, MA. Ms. Kuzmech joined the Mt. Everett staff in 2010, and she is certified in Moderate Disabilities, PK-12.

 

Jeffrey Lang teaches Grades 9-12 Social Studies and History. He received a BA in History from Muhlenberg College, an MA in History from Columbia University, and completed a post baccalaureate teacher certification program at Westfield State College. Prior to coming to Mt. Everett in 2005, Mr. Lang enjoyed a successful travel career with the American Express Company in New York City. He is a past recipient of the American Society of Newspaper Editors summer fellowship to the University of Texas/Austin School of Journalism. Mr. Lang holds MA certification in History, 8-12.

 

Pierre Leger teaches grades 7-12 French. Mr. Leger is a native of France who earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Hospitality Management from Institut Paul Bocuse. He has worked at Canyon Ranch and Blantyre, and operated Á Table, a tableware boutique, in Lenox. Having decided on a career change, Mr. Leger obtained MA certification in French, PreK-6 and 7-12, and he has taught at the Academy at Swift River. He has also lead workshops in "French Through Cuisine" for adults and for students at Lenox Memorial High School.

 
Karen Lehtinen teaches grades 7-8 special education English/language arts. Ms. Lehtinen joined the District in 2010 following a three-year experience in Billerica, MA, where she taught special education classes in grades 7 and 8. She also served as a paraprofessional and substitute in the Central Berkshire Regional School District for several years prior to moving to Billerica. Ms. Lehtinen received her Bachelors degree in Education from Westfield State College, and she holds MA certification in Moderate Disabilities, PreK-8.
 
 
Jeanne Lemlin teaches Grades 9-12 English Language Arts. She received a BA in Fine Arts from Southeastern MA University, and an MS in English from Westfield State College. Prior to coming to Mt. Everett in 2003, Ms. Lemlin was a cookbook author and teacher. She has written five cookbooks, one of which won the James Beard Award, and she has written for Gourmet, Cooking Light, and Yankee magazines. She has also been a frequent guest on the Food Network. Ms. Lemlin is the 6-12 English Language Arts Curriculum Leader, and she brought the Poetry Out Loud contest to Mt. Everett this year. She holds MA teaching certification in English, 8-12.
 
 
Susan Mino serves as the Response to Intervention Teacher at Mt. Everett.She holds a BA in Music from Houghton College and received her Masters degree in Education from the University of Massachusetts. Ms. Mino has served as a tutor and academic coach for public, private, college, and home school students for several years. She previously worked as an elementary teacher in SBRSD and other local districts. When not teaching, Ms. Mino is a professional accompanist to the Berkshire Bach Singers, Berkshire Children's Chorus, and other area venues. She holds MA certification in Math, 5-8 and 8-12.
 
Jeanne Moran, RN, BSN is the school nurse at Mt. Everett. Prior to joining our staff, Ms. Moran worked for three years as a school nurse in Easthampton. She also substituted in NY schools and worked in home health services and as a Medicaid Provider RN. Ms. Moran received a certificate in Practical Nursing from North Country Community College in Malone, NY, and earned her BS in Nursing at the College of Our Lady of the Elms in Chicopee, MA. She is MA certified as a School Nurse.
 

Brenda Olivieri is an Academic (Special Education) Caseworker. Ms. Olivieri joined the District staff in 2006. She is a graduate of Belford University, with a BA in Early Childhood Education. She also holds a Horticulture Certificate from MA College of Liberal Arts through the Berkshire Botanical Garden. Prior to coming to the District, Ms. Olivieri served as a Youth Outreach Coordinator and a substitute teacher at all grade levels.

 
Susanne Petrucci teaches Grades 7-12 Family and Consumer Science. Ms. Petrucci holds a BS in Human Resources and Family Studies from the University of Illinois, Urbana, and an MS in Family, Consumer and Nutrition Sciences from Northern Illinois University. She taught for several years at Central Berkshire RSD, prior to coming to Mt. Everett in 2007. Ms. Petrucci is MA certified in Health/Family and Consumer Sciences, All Levels.
 
 

Lewis Randall, Jr. teaches Specialized Alternative Learning Environment classes. Mr. Randall received a BS in Liberal Studies from Southern CT State University, and a Clinical Masters in Education from Westfield State College. He came to Mt. Everett in 2004, and he holds MA teaching certification in the areas of Social Studies (5-9 and 9-12), Special Needs (5-12), and Principal/Asst. Principal (5-8 and 9-12).

 

Andrew Rapport teaches the Grades 7-12 Life Skills and Reading (special education) classes. He is a graduate of the University of New Mexico, where he earned a BA in Communications / Journalism. He received an MS in Curriculum Development and Instructional Technique from the State University of New York, Albany. Prior to joining the Mt. Everett staff in 2004, Mr. Rapport was employed by Berkshire County ARC, working to transition special needs children from high school into the work world. He also served as a teacher and residential director at the Kildonan School. He holds MA teaching certification in History (5-8 and 8-12) and Moderate Disabilities (5-12).

 
Senta Reis is the Middle/High School Language Lab Teacher. Prior to joining the Southern Berkshrie staff in 2010, Ms. Reis held teaching assignments at the Rudolph Steiner School and at Valleyhead School. Additionally, she is a long-time workshop leader and teacher for the Community Access to the Arts in Great Barrington, providing artistic experiences to a wide range of "variously-abled" people, and she is a certified yoga instructor. Ms. Reis received her Bachelor of Arts from Bard College at Simon's Rock, completed further undergraduate studies in fine art at Adelphi University, and earned her Masters Degree in Education, with a Curriculum & Instruction specialization from Lesley University. She holds MA certification in Special Needs, 5-12.
 
Roberta Sarnacki teaches Business Education, Technology, and Spanish at Mt. Everett. Ms. Sarnacki earned a BS in Criminal Justice, a BA in Liberal Studies, and a M.Ed. in Special Education from Westfield State University. She has previously worked as an instructional technology specialist and as a special education teacher in the Springfield Public Schools. Ms. Sarnacki also serves as Chief of Police in Otis, MA. She is MA certified in Special Needs, PK-9 and 5-12; Business, 5-12; and Instructional Technology, All Levels.
 
Timothy Schwartz teaches Physical Science and Chemistry, Grades 9-12. Mr. Schwartz holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Northeastern University, and he is currently working to complete his Masters Degree at UMASS, Amherst. A member of the Mt. Everett staff since 2001, Mr. Schwartz is certified to teach Math (9-12) and Chemistry (8-12).
 

Brittany Sherwood teaches grades 7-8 math. She holds a BS in secondary education and a BA in Mathematics from Salve Regina University. Ms. Sherwood completed her student teaching and practicum in Middleton, RI, and Carver, MA. She holds MA certification in Mathematics, 5-8 and 8-12.

 

James Siket teaches Grades 7-12 Media and Video Production. He is a graduate of Saint Thomas Acquinas College, where he was awarded a BS in Commercial Design. He joined the Mt. Everett staff in 2006. Mr. Siket holds MA certification in Instructional Technology, All Levels.

 

Sarah Siket teaches Math, Grades 9-12. She obtained a BA in Electronic Media, Arts and Communications from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MS in Philanthropy and Media from Suffolk University. She is currently completing a second Masters Degree in Math through Cambridge College. Ms. Siket joined the Mt. Everett staff in 2004, and holds MA teaching certification in Math (5-8 and 9-12).

 

Angela Spitia teaches high school Spanish (.4 FTE). Ms. Spitia received a BS in Law from the Universidad de San Buenaventure, Cali,Colombia, and an MS in Teaching English as a Second Language from the Southern New Hampshire University. She joined the District staff in 2007, and holds MA certification as Teacher of Spanish, PK-6 and 5-12.

 
Julie Steuernagle is a Reading Specialist. She is a graduate of Fitchburg state College, where she received a BS in Education. She received an M.Ed. (Reading Specialist) from Loyola College in MD. Ms. Steuernagle joined the District staff in 2001. She holds MA certification as a Teacher of Children with Special Needs, PK-9, and as a Reading Teacher, All Levels.
 

Jessica Tomich teaches physical education at Mt. Everett (part-time). Prior to coming to the District in 2010, Ms. Tomich graduated from Westfield State College, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Movement Science. Ms. Tomich also served as the captain of the women's varsity soccer team at Westfield. She holds MA certification in Physical Education, grades 5-12.

 
Susan Tomich teaches Grades 7-12 Health and Physical Education. A member of the Mt. Everett staff since 2005, she is a graduate of Westfield State College with a BS in Health, Physical Education and Recreation. Ms. Tomich serves as Co-Advisor to the Mt. Everett Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) Chapter, Advisor of the Class of 2012, member of the Wellness Committee, and Co-Chair of the Community Resources Committee. She is also a member of the Southern Berkshire Teen Pregnancy Task Force, and a Library Trustee in the Town of Alford. Ms. Tomich holds MA certification in the field of Physical Education and Health.
 

Brenda Ullrich is a Guidance and School Adjustment Counselor, Grades 7-12. She is a graduate of Westfield State College with a BA in Criminal Justice and a BS in Social Sciences. She earned an MSW in Social Work from the State University of New York, Albany, she also earned her L.I.C.S.W. in 1990. Ms. Ullrich serves as Advisor to the Student Interact Organization. A member of the Mt. Everett staff since 1994, she holds MA certification as a School Social Worker / School Adjustment Counselor (all levels).

 
 

Asha von Ruden teaches Grades 7-8 Science and Anatomy & Physiology in the High School. She received a BA in Biology from Clark University and an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from UMASS, Lowell. Ms. Von Ruden came to Mt. Everett in 1998, and she currently serves as the Teacher Assistance Team (TAT) Coordinator. She is also an advisor to the Outdoor Adventure Club and has led science trips to Florida and assisted with the Tennis Team. She holds MA teaching certification in the areas of Elementary (1-6) and Middle School (5-9).

 
Curtis von Ruden is a Grades 7-12 Vocational-Technical Teacher. A graduate of Bemidji State University, MN, with a BA in Biology, Mr. Von Ruden was employed for several years as a carpenter, prior to joining the Mt. Everett staff in 2002. He holds MA certification in Carpentry (Voc-Ed).
 
   

Kevin Wolgemuth teaches Grades 9-12 English Language Arts. He was awarded a BA in English and a BA in Psychology from the State University of New York, Buffalo. He has also earned Masters Degrees from Syracuse University in English and in Sociology, and from Maxwell School at Syracuse University in the area of Public Administration. Mr. Wolgemuth came to Mt. Everett in 2004. In 2005, the National Endowment for the Humanities sponsored his participation in a seminar entitled "Chaucer's Canterbury Comedies" in Canterbury England. Mr. Wolgemuth holds MA teaching certification in English, Grades 8-12.
